In our commitment to education, we strive to achieve equitable educational opportunities and experiences necessary to develop confident life long learners.

Capital Building Project

Dear Residents of the Auburn Enlarged City School District:

For the past several years, the board of education has engaged in several initiatives to assess and prioritize the ongoing facility needs of our district in preparation for a capital building project. School representatives and our professional consultants expended a significant amount of time to finalize this recommendation. We appreciate and value their insights and initiative.

Our ability to continue our long-standing tradition of student success and academic accomplishment depend on maintaining and improving the educational environment for our students.

The referendum vote on December 1 will ask you to vote for capital improvements to our school buildings. In addition to our recent meeting, held November 4 at 6:30 pm, there is another information meeting on Thursday, November 19, at 6:30 pm at East Middle School and a public hearing on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7:00 pm at Auburn High School.

Our goal throughout this process has been to implement good stewardship of our facilities, provide a quality learning environment, and be fiscally responsible to our taxpayers. Our current state aid reimbursable rate is 87.8%. The board of education encourages you to read about the details of the capital improvement project in this newsletter and exercise your right to vote on December 1 at Seward Elementary School. Some of our most frequently asked questions are included in this newsletter, along with descriptions of the projects at each district building. If you have further questions, you may contact Mr. J.D. Pabis, Superintendent, or any member of the board of education. Additional information is also available on the links above.

Sincerely,
Charlie Cator
President, Board of Education
