After school programs are provided by the Partnership for Results
for students enrolled at Genesee, Herman and Seward Elementary Schools
The programs occur at the schools and begin at 3:15 upon dismissal from the regular school day. The program at Herman ends at 5:30 PM and the programs at Genesee and Seward run through 6:15 PM. All three programs offer a healthy snack at the beginning of the program. Students then participate in an hour of Project-Based Learning with certified teachers from the school. The projects are designed to provide the students with “hands-on” learning activities. Other enrichment activities are offered as well. These activities may include arts and crafts, soccer, basketball and other recreational activities, theater, music and art. In addition, students will take an occasional field trip to local activities and attractions. At the end of the day each student is offered a healthy dinner. Transportation home is provided.
The purpose of these after school programs is to provide students with academic enrichment, as well as to help them develop their social, leadership, writing and other skills. However, every effort is made to ensure that the students in the programs have fun and see attendance at the after school program as a high point in their day.
