The Explorers Classroom is open to all youth within the Auburn School District enrolled in Kindergarten and 1st grade and is held at BTW after school until 6:15pm. Explorers is an after-school environment designed to promote healthy physical and emotional development, encourage curiosity and build social skills. As kids learn to read and write this program seeks to reinforce what kids are already learning in school. By creating a fun afternoon environment kids are supported as they engage in learning activities.
In addition to basic academic needs, Explorers is a place to simply be a kid. Instead of being concerned with outside street temptations and peer pressure, kids are encouraged to respect themselves and others. Kids are taught responsibility, independence, and the importance of just being a kid.
