Judging criteria
Each entrant may submit one poem of no more than 20 lines on the theme or an aspect of “Humor”, in any style or form, provided that the poem is the original, individual work of the entrant. No preference is given to any one form (i.e. sonnets, villanelles, free verse, etc.) over another.  Poems will be judged on their originality and their ability to elicit a response in the reader. The more giggles and guffaws, the better.  Judges will be looking for originality, creativity, artistic quality, characterization, and the adherence to the theme and line limits.

Submission guidelines:
This contest is for students of all ages and community members.  Poems should be no more than 20 lines.  Poems should be typed and double-spaced.  A cover sheet should include the writer's name, address, phone number, and, if applicable, grade, age, school and sponsoring teacher's name.

Tubman Administration Building,
